The International Coach Federation (“ICF”) charges an annual membership fee, which is currently $195. The Chapter Executive is mindful of the fact this equates to quite a large amount of money in Rand terms. This fee has to be paid directly to the ICF. To cover the costs of holding events, establishing a web site, printing materials, marketing costs etc, an ICF Chapter in turn has to charge a fee. It is not defined as a membership fee but rather as an event fee.

It is an ICF requirement that in order to belong to an ICF Chapter you also need to become a member of the ICF within 6 months of joining the Chapter. To become a member of the Chapter you need to complete the Chapter membership application form and fax it to 086 680 1234 or email to member@icfgauteng.org.

Having attended the Chapter Presidents conference in Montreal in November 2008, it became apparent that many Chapters allow a little more flexibility to Chapter members in the start up phase of the Chapter in terms of not insisting that they become members of the ICF six months after joining the Chapter.

The Chapter Executive has therefore agreed to a three tier Chapter Event fee for this financial year, to allow for Non ICF members to also become members of the Gauteng Chapter for this year. The three tier fee structure is as follows:

TIER 1: ICF MEMBERS
If you are a registered and paid up member of the ICF, the Chapter Event fee for the year is R750.00. When paying your fee please advise us of your ICF membership number.

TIER 2: NON ICF MEMBERS
If you are not a member of the ICF, the Chapter Event fee for the year is R 1,500.00. From January 2010, it will become a requirement that all non ICF members will have to become a member of the ICF, if they wish to remain a member of the Chapter.

TIER 3: NON ICF OR CHAPTER MEMBERS
If you are neither a member of the ICF nor the Chapter, an Event fee of R 200.00 per person attending the event will be charged. No one may attend more than 6 Chapter events without then becoming a member of the Chapter.

NB All interested parties may attend their first Chapter event free of charge.

The Chapter event fee will entitle each member to attend at least six events free of charge. We will hold at least 10 events a year, and will only charge an additional event fee should we arrange a guest speaker at the request of the members, which results in additional cost for the Chapter. If not, all 10 events will be included in the Chapter Event fee paid. Most of the meetings will grant you CCEU’s which can be used for ICF certification or renewal purposes.
