MEMBERS ONLY: Case Study Discussion
Case study discussions will be taking place quarterly. Members who attended last year’s sessions found them a great opportunity to learn from other coaches and share insights and resources. The “format” of the session is two case study discussions of about 45 minutes each (30 minutes presentation and 15 minutes for questions and discussion). If you’d like to attend the next session or if you’d like to present a case study, please contact Sharon Wakeford via email (sharon@sharonwakeford.co.za
The first meeting of the ICF Gauteng Chapter Case Study Discussion group will be taking place on Wednesday 14 March 2012 from 18h00 – 20h00. This group was initiated in 2011 and a number of great sessions took place during the course of the year. The intention behind establishing the group was to provide another opportunity (additional to the monthly events) for members to connect with other coaches and actively share with each other knowledge, insights and experience in the practice of coaching.
Based on the responses to the question posed at the January ICF meeting at the Bryanston Country Club i.e. “What would I love the ICF Gauteng Chapter to be for me in 2012?”, this group can be a vehicle for meeting members’ needs because the key themes that emerged from the responses were (for the Chapter to be a place of):
community and connection
learning and development
inspiration
fun
What’s wonderful about the case study sessions is that they incorporate all these aspects. And, as we move into 2012, it would be great to think about how we can build on what was started in 2011. With this in mind, the invitation to you is come to the session and for us to spend some time at the beginning of the session talking about the format and content of the sessions. Last year the sessions included a mix of case study presentations and discussion of coaching scenarios linked to ICF Core Competencies, and there may be more that we can do this year.
If you would like to attend the session (on Wednesday 14 March, 18h00 – 20h00), please can you confirm your attendance to me (sharon@sharonwakeford.co.za) by 7 March. If you would like to present a case study, that would be fabulous and please could you let me know, also by 7 March. Details regarding the venue will be sent out a week before the session.
